Step one! TAX ID/EIN
The first step to building business credit is of course, to start a business. For that you are going to have to apply for an EIN number with the IRS. I am certain that this may be obvious to everyone, but we felt that it was worth mentioning. If at this point you do not have an EIN number, you may get one by clicking on the image below. If you are planning to start a corporation, you would need to highlight the circle that says corporation once you get to the irs website.
